We are thrilled to share some incredible news with you! Thanks to your amazing support, Mission Mug Coffee has made our first donation to Hope International. Because of your generous purchases of our coffee and mugs, we were able to give the gift of hope to a crop farmer in need!
About Hope International
Hope International, based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is a remarkable non-profit organization dedicated to empowering impoverished entrepreneurs to become successful business owners. Through their efforts, they not only uplift communities but also share the Gospel with these entrepreneurs!
Our Contribution
With your help, we purchased a bundle that includes a small plot of land, seeds, and tools, providing these farmers with the resources they need to grow their crops and sustain their livelihoods. This is a huge step toward creating lasting change in their lives!
A Heartwarming Story
Shortly after our donation, I had the pleasure of meeting Grace, a representative from Hope International, over coffee. Grace was incredibly thankful for your support and shared a moving story about a woman named Yolani living in the Dominican Republic. Here’s what Grace told me:
“A Haitian by birth, Yolani had come to San Pedro to escape the violence in her home country. She met her husband, also Haitian, in the D.R., and they moved to the countryside to open a colmado, a small convenience store attached to their home. Yolani grows her own fruit on the mountain, a couple hours' walk from her home, and sells it along with other snacks and items needed for her community’s daily life. Her constant refrain was gracias a Dios, thanks be to God, for the success of her business. She had been with Esperanza for 5 years and was so grateful for the ways that her loan officer had cared for her over the years. Despite carrying the weight of her past from Haiti, she remains strong and even content in the midst of hardship, always asking for prayers for her home country and family still there. Grateful for her testimony!”
